Conclusion
Applying advanced vision and image processing concepts allowed me to reduce number of hardware components required for a digital pen project. These techniques gave me the ability to extract position and orientation of the pen all through software. It is my belief that with further implementation and prototype evolution it is possible to make the digital pen appear as a commercial product targeting students and business professionals.
